Accident in Bazenheid SG claims third victim

Wednesday morning's head-on collision in a tunnel in Bazenheid SG has claimed a third victim. A 67-year-old driver, who was flown to hospital by the ambulance service after the accident, died there, the St. Gallen cantonal police announced on Thursday.
A truck and three cars were involved in the accident. A 49-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman died at the scene of the accident.
According to the police, the 49-year-old drove his car into the oncoming lane in the tunnel and collided with an oncoming truck. The force of the collision caused the two vehicles to crash into two other cars.
