Matthias Aebischer, Nationalrat and Co-President of the Bernese SP, has all the necessary qualifications for the Federal Council. Co-President Anna Tanner praised his political acumen, stress resistance and leadership experience at his press conference announcing his candidacy. Ueli Egger, the other Co-President of the SP Kanton Bern, also spoke highly of Aebischer's communication skills and his closeness to the people. Both Co-Presidents are convinced that Aebischer is capable of fulfilling the role of a Federal Councillor.
