Amherd: Switzerland can count on Italy in EU negotiations

According to President Viola Amherd, Switzerland can count on Italy's support in the negotiations on a new agreement with the EU. "I have been promised support," she said following the meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
"Italy is also interested in finding a solution. And if necessary, Italy would also provide support," said Amherd in an interview with "SonntagsBlick".
However, Amherd also called for tailwind in the EU negotiations from within Switzerland. "Business, education and research in particular must now become more involved," said the President of the Swiss Confederation. "The economy has a great interest in finding a solution. I also expect the business community to communicate this accordingly."
