Another increase in traffic jams on the Gotthard late Friday evening

The traffic jam in front of the Gotthard north portal increased again late on Friday evening. After 9 p.m., the queue of traffic reached a length of 10 kilometers.
The waiting time thus amounted to one hour and 40 minutes, as the Touring Club of Switzerland (TCS) reported on X.
A lot of patience was already required before the Gotthard in the afternoon. The traffic jam between Erstfeld UR and Göschenen UR grew to twelve kilometers. In the evening, however, the traffic jam only began to ease again. At 7.30 p.m., the traffic jam in front of the Gotthard's north portal was still three kilometers long.
