Baselland: Green Incumbent Maya Graf Distances Herself from FDP Challenger

Maya Graf (Green Party) has clearly outdistanced her bürgerliche challenger Sven Inäbnit (FDP) in the Baselbieter Ständeratswahlen. After counting 61 out of 86 municipalities, the 61-year-old biobäuerin from Sissach has so far gathered 22,254 votes. She has been a Ständerätin since 2019 and was a member of the Nationalrat from 2001 to 2019, which she also presided in 2009. Sven Inäbnit, a 59-year-old pharmacist from Binningen, has so far received 17,749 votes. He has been a Landrat since 2013 and an Einwohnerrat of Binningen since 2009. With the votes from the most populous municipalities yet to be counted, it is unlikely that Inäbnit will be able to make up the difference.
