Customs officers discovered almost a kilogram of drugs in a vehicle at the Au SG border crossing on Easter Monday. According to a statement, they seized over 500 grams of cocaine, almost 200 grams of heroin and just over 200 grams of hashish in various hiding places.

The driver of the vehicle with German license plates had come from Austria and initially identified himself with a false driver's license, the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) wrote in a statement on Monday.

An inspection of the vehicle not only revealed the drugs. It also turned out that the Albanian driver had been banned from entering Switzerland. He and the narcotics were handed over to the St. Gallen cantonal police for further proceedings.
