Car catches fire in the Gotthard road tunnel

A passenger car caught fire in the Gotthard road tunnel early on Tuesday morning. No people were injured. The tunnel had to be closed in both directions for around an hour.
The driver and his passenger had gone to the shelter and were not injured in the fire, according to the cantonal police of Uri. The traffic facilities were not damaged. The cause of the fire was not initially known.
