Center Albert Anker in Ins opens its doors

At the beginning of June, the further developed Ankerhaus in Ins BE opens its doors as the Albert Anker Center. The artists' house provides an insight into the life and work of Albert Anker, hosts exhibitions and is active in cultural education.
Anker's former home and studio can be visited as part of a guided tour, as the center writes in a press release on Wednesday. The permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibitions in the new pavilion are also accessible without a guided tour.
The studio and residential building were gently renovated and equipped with visitor-friendly reception rooms. The Anker House Ins Foundation set itself the goal of further developing the historic building from 1803. The Centre Albert Anker is to become an artists' house of national renown, conveying and bringing to life a comprehensive picture of Anker's artistic and cultural work and his time.
According to the foundation, the Künstlerhaus occupies a special position between an art museum and a regional museum. The Albert Anker Center in Ins will open on June 7, 2024.
