The Halbierungsinitiative, or "200 Franken sind genug!" initiative, has been submitted to the Swiss Federal Chancellery on Thursday. The initiative, which is the second referendum against the SRG fees after the "No Billag" initiative, was submitted with over 128,000 signatures. The initiative aims to reduce the radio and television fees from 335 Swiss francs per household and year to 200 Swiss francs. The initiators argue that Switzerland has the world's highest device-independent fees and that media offerings and usage have changed significantly. The fees are now collected by the Serafe collection agency, which replaced the Billag. In March 2018, the Swiss electorate rejected the "No Billag" initiative with 71.6%. The Halbierungsinitiative is opposed by the Pro Medienvielfalt Alliance, among others.nnnnnn
