Couple of mountaineers struck by lightning in the Bernina region of Graubünden

A young mountaineering couple was struck by two lightning bolts in the Bernina region of Graubünden on Wednesday. The 26-year-old man crashed and fell 10 meters. He suffered moderate injuries.
When the man's 25-year-old girlfriend alerted the emergency services, her cell phone was struck by lightning, as the cantonal police reported on Thursday. She was slightly injured.
A Rega helicopter rescued the injured and flew them to a hospital in Zurich. The mountaineers had been out in a group of four near Pontresina and had been surprised by a thunderstorm.
