Croatian singer Baby Lasagna overtook Switzerland in the betting odds to win the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) on Thursday with his song "Rim Tim Tagi Dim". Nemo's Swiss entry had been the favorite for around four weeks.

The music talent from Biel was still leading the rankings on Thursday morning, but by the afternoon Nemo's chances of winning were at 21 percent. Baby Lasagna was now in the lead with 22 percent, according to the eurovisionworld.com portal.

In his song, the Croatian singer tells the story of young Croats who leave their country en masse in search of a better life. In the song "The Code", Nemo sings about coming to terms with his own identity as a non-binary person.

Next week will show whether the betting odds are right. The semi-finals of the European music competition will take place on May 7 and 9, followed by the final of the 68th ESC on May 11.
