Cyclist falls and is seriously injured in Ticino

A 49-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries in a fall in Mendrisio TI on Sunday evening. It was initially unclear why he fell, apparently without any outside influence.
According to the Ticino cantonal police, the victim is Swiss and lives in the Lugano area. He was taken to hospital by ambulance. Investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.
