Driver dies after collision with minibus in the canton of Vaud

A 24-year-old driver was killed in a traffic accident in the Vaud municipality of St-Barthélemy on Friday. The Italian resident of the region had lost control of his car and collided with a school bus.
The accident occurred at around 07:15 on the road between Bioley-Orjulaz and Echallens, according to the Vaud cantonal police. Paramedics got the young man out of his vehicle at the scene and administered first aid. He was then flown by helicopter to Chuv University Hospital. There he succumbed to the consequences of his injuries.
The driver of the minibus was alone in the vehicle. The 61-year-old Swiss woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Yverdon-les-Bains with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Vaud public prosecutor's office launched an investigation to determine the course of events and the cause of the accident.
