The Swiss Evangelical People's Party (EVP) has proposed a resolution calling for a salary cap for executives of state-owned companies such as Postfinance and SBB. These executives should not be allowed to earn more than double the salary of a Swiss Federal Council member. The resolution also calls for a cap on bonuses at systemically important banks, limiting these variable components of pay to two additional monthly salaries or fifteen percent of the annual salary. The EVP believes that this will reduce incentives for irresponsible risk-taking. The resolution also calls for a significant expansion of the supervisory, intervention and sanctioning powers of the financial supervisory authority Finma. Currently, the gross annual income of a Swiss Federal Council member is 468,276 Swiss francs. According to the Federal Council's Kaderlohneporting 2022, published in June, eight executives of state-owned companies and institutions earned more than half a million francs in the last year. Postfinance CEO Hansruedi Köng earned the most, with a salary of around 827,000 francs (not including contributions to occupational pension schemes). Post CEO Roberto Cirillo came in second with a salary of around 822,000 francs, followed by SBB CEO Vincent Ducrot with a salary of around 762,000 francs. Including employer contributions to social security and occupational pension schemes, Cirillo and Ducrot earned more than one million francs.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
