Exhibitionist from the canton of Solothurn charged in 35 cases

The public prosecutor's office of the canton of Solothurn has charged a 54-year-old man with sexual acts and exhibitionism. He is accused of exposing himself to 35 underage girls and young women in 35 cases between 2017 and 2022.
The crime scene was the area around the River Aare between Olten SO and Erlinsbach SO, as the public prosecutor's office announced on Monday. From 2017, reports of an exhibitionist were repeatedly received. Following targeted checks and an increased police presence, the suspect was arrested in July 2022, according to the statement.
The accused has partially confessed and is at large again, according to the public prosecutor's office. However, he must comply with alternative measures. Once the investigations have been completed, the 54-year-old Swiss national will have to answer for multiple sexual acts with a child and multiple acts of exhibitionism. The date of the hearing before the Olten-Gösgen magistrates' court has not yet been set.
