Fatal fire in Pfaffnau LU probably had an electrical cause

The cause of the house fire that claimed two lives in Pfaffnau LU in March is now known. The Lucerne police are assuming an unspecified "electrical cause of fire".
As the building was badly damaged, the cause of the fire could not be conclusively determined, according to a press release issued by the public prosecutor's office on Thursday. However, there are no indications of arson.
During the night of March 18, an apartment building with an adjoining barn caught fire in Pfaffnau. Seven people were evacuated. Two fatalities were recovered from the ruins of the fire. The 68-year-old and 74-year-old died of smoke inhalation, according to the public prosecutor's office.
