Fatal traffic accident on the A1 highway near Coppet

A fatal traffic accident occurred on the A1 highway in the direction of Geneva shortly after the Coppet VD junction on Saturday afternoon. A 66-year-old motorist lost control of his vehicle and ended up on the embankment to the right of the emergency lane.
A witness and the emergency services tried to resuscitate the man at the scene, the Vaud police reported on Sunday. However, the Swiss resident in France died at the scene of the accident. The public prosecutor's office was informed and the public prosecutor on duty initiated an investigation.
