A fire broke out in the ice rink in Biasca on Thursday afternoon. According to the Ticino Cantonal Police, the roof of the ice rink is on fire. No one was injured in the fire, but as a precaution, the local middle school and vocational training center were evacuated. The cause of the fire is still unknown according to the police statement. Solar panels were installed on the roof of the ice rink. The fire is limited to one part of the roof and the firefighting operations are underway. A firefighter was taken to the hospital for a check-up due to feeling unwell.
