There were gale-force gusts in the Swiss Alps on Friday. According to SRF Meteo, a wind force of 127 kilometers per hour was measured on Crap Masegn GR.

Strong winds were also recorded on the Eggishorn VS (120 km/h) and the Simplon VS (100 km/h), as SRF Meteo announced on X, formerly Twitter.

In central, eastern and south-eastern Switzerland, snowfall is also expected down to low altitudes over the weekend. The Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology (MeteoSwiss) has warned of considerable danger. Accordingly, the snow line in the affected regions is likely to drop to around 400 meters above sea level. The snowfall could lead to restrictions in road, rail and air traffic, it added.
