Shortly before the border near Schaffhausen, German customs have pulled a ketamine smuggler out of circulation. The man from the Netherlands had 26.3 kilograms of the anaesthetic, worth the equivalent of 750,000 Swiss francs, in his trunk.
The man told the customs officers that he was on his way to visit friends in Milan. Because he made an extremely nervous impression, the officers finally checked the car more closely, as the main customs office in Singe reported on Friday.
In the large, sealed package in the trunk, they did not find - as the label indicated - peach iced tea flavored food supplements, but drugs. These were confiscated and the man was provisionally arrested. Ketamine is an anesthetic that can lead to hallucinations.
