Girl found unconscious after disappearing in Ravoire

A six-year-old girl who was reported missing in the Ravoire region on Sunday has been found unconscious, according to the Valais cantonal police (VS).

The cantonal police operations center was informed at 17:54 on Sunday about the disappearance of the girl who had been attending a family party at the barbecue site in Ravoire. The six-year-old had been playing near the party and had not been seen since 17:00. The police then deployed an extensive search operation in collaboration with their numerous rescue partners. As a result, the child was found at around 21:20 during a search of the area in the forest below the Ravoire colony. The unconscious girl was immediately given medical treatment on site and then flown by helicopter to the CHUV University Hospital in Lausanne. Around 30 police officers, 20 specialists from the regional rescue services, 20 firefighters from Martigny, Martigny-Combe and Orsières, the Cantonal Valais Rescue Organization (KWRO), the Swiss Air Force and more than 200 volunteers from the region were mobilized to take part in the search. The public prosecutor's office, in collaboration with the Valais cantonal police, has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
