UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has accused those involved in the Gaza war of ignoring international law. This also applies to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Sudan: "Parties to the conflict are ignoring international law, trampling on the Geneva Conventions and even violating the Charter of the United Nations," said Guterres on Wednesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos GR.

The world is watching as civilians, especially women and children, are killed, maimed, bombed and driven from their homes and denied access to humanitarian aid. Guterres reiterated his call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. A process must begin that leads to sustainable peace for Israelis and Palestinians, based on a two-state solution.
