Bank Julius Baer is making another management departure. The head of the Swiss market, Gilles Stuck, is stepping down from his position, as a spokeswoman for the Zurich-based private bank confirmed on Tuesday.

Stuck will pursue a new career outside Julius Baer, the spokeswoman told the news agency AWP on Tuesday in response to corresponding media reports. Sonia Gössi, Head of Julius Baer's Switzerland & Europe region, will now take over his duties on an interim basis. Stuck took up the position as Head of the entire Swiss market in November 2021.

Bank Julius Baer has recently been in the crossfire of the media for months due to its large loans to the insolvent Signa Group. At the beginning of February, the bank wrote off loans amounting to CHF 606 million. At the same time, the previous CEO Philipp Rickenbacher resigned from his post and Board member David Nicol also stepped down.
