The industrial area of Aigle in the Chablais region of Vaud has been evacuated as a precautionary measure due to the risk of flooding. According to the canton of Vaud, the situation along the Rhone is worsening. At midday, the river was carrying around 1200 cubic meters of water per second.

According to the Alertswiss report, there is a risk that the river could overflow and the Rhone dyke could break. Anyone in the industrial area near Aigle must leave the zone. The cantonal authorities urged people to listen to the radio and follow the instructions of the emergency services.

Anyone leaving their home or business premises is asked to switch off the electricity and gas and close doors and windows, according to the cantonal command staff. In addition to papers and cell phones, you should take a change of clothes and any medication you need with you. A hall in Yvorne was made available to the evacuees.

The road from the industrial area of Aigle to St-Triphon will be closed until at least 6 p.m. on Sunday. People living near the evacuated area between the Rhone and the A9 have been asked to stay at home. The evacuated area includes a sewage treatment plant.
