There will be a change at the top of the "Inside IT" online portal: Editor-in-chief Reto Vogt is stepping down. He will be succeeded by Katharina Jochum at the beginning of October, as announced by "Inside IT" on Friday.

Vogt explained his departure on the career portal Linkedin with overwork. In addition to being editor-in-chief, he took over the management of the publishing house at the beginning of the year. And since spring, he had also been conducting acquisition talks with potential advertisers.

"But it became too much for me. The strain was too much," wrote Vogt. "I had to step on the brakes. That's why I resigned." He only had about two weeks left at "Inside IT".

Over the past three years, "Inside IT" has seen a strong increase in readership under Vogt's leadership as editor-in-chief, the portal wrote. With 200,000 readers per month, "Inside IT" now has around four times as many unique clients as three years ago.

Deputy editor-in-chief takes over

Vogt will be succeeded by the current deputy editor-in-chief Katharina Jochum, who has been working for the ICT news platform for almost ten years. Mark Schröder will join the company as the new deputy in November. He currently works at security service provider e3, where he was most recently Head of Communications. Previously, Schröder worked for over 20 years as an IT editor for various media.

"Philipp Anz, Hans Jörg Maron and Christian Wingeier will remain on board and complete the editorial team," wrote "Inside IT". Following Vogt's departure, publisher Christian Fehrlin will once again take over the management of Winsider Verlag.

After a break, Vogt himself is moving to the MAZ Media Training Center in Lucerne. At the Institute for Journalism and Communication, he will take over as Head of Digital Studies.
