Literary critic Insa Wilke has stepped down as chairwoman and member of the jury for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize.

After six years on the committee, she is giving up her seat "to make room for other people and, ideally, perspectives", she told the German Press Agency on Thursday. However, she would like to return in the future, she added.

The "Days of German-Language Literature" will take place next year from June 27 to 30 in Klagenfurt, Carinthia. The Austrian literary scholar and critic Klaus Kastberger, who has been a member of the jury for many years, will take over the chairmanship of the seven-member jury, as announced by the Austrian broadcaster ORF as the organizer. As a new member of the panel, Swiss author, critic and actress Laura de Weck will help discuss and decide on the texts presented.

Last summer, Valeria Gordeev from Tübingen won the main prize of 25,000 euros.
