The Canton of Zurich is providing 500,000 Swiss Francs in support of survivors of terror attacks in Israel and the rebuilding of affected villages. The funds from the charitable fund will be directed to the Eshkol region.

The Canton of Zurich has donated half a million Swiss francs to the Israeli foundation Ha'Amuta Lekidum Toshevei Hevel Eshkol in solidarity with the victims of a brutal terror attack. The Canton of Zurich expressed its support for the victims in a statement released on Thursday.

The region of Eshkol has been particularly hard hit by the conflict, with its long border to the Gaza Strip. Hundreds of residents have been killed, injured, or abducted. The infrastructure of the villages in this region, which is important for Israeli agriculture, has been practically destroyed.

The foundation, founded in 2007, uses the money for food and shelter for survivors and for the reconstruction of homes and businesses, so that agricultural production of food can be continued. The project was mediated by the Israelite Community Union (SIG).
