Electricity prices will fall in the coming year. The majority of electricity companies expect this. The reasons for this are the easing of prices on the European electricity markets and lower costs for domestic electricity reserves.

In a survey conducted by the Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (VSE) among its members, 75 out of 83 participating electricity suppliers stated that they are certain or likely to reduce their electricity prices in 2025. The VSE wrote this on Wednesday.

According to specific tariff data from 52 energy supply companies, which together account for around 35% of the Swiss supply, the electricity tariffs of these electricity suppliers will fall by an average of around 8% in 2025 for H4 household customers (4- to 5-room apartment with electric stove, tumble dryer). The tariffs for H2 household customers (4- to 5-room apartment with electric stove) will fall by an average of 10%.
