In the Lucerne jewelry robbery trial, the alleged robber has admitted to the crime. He was able to open the door to the staff entrance and enter the jewelry store because he had installed a camera days before to find out the code.

The 46-year-old defendant contradicted the prosecution's statement that he had received the code from an employee of the jewelry retailer. He did not know the co-accused employee, he said.

Jewelry and watches worth over 20 million francs were stolen in the 2019 robbery at the Gübelin store on Schwanenplatz in Lucerne. The accused is said to have worked together with other men to carry out the robbery. A total of six suspects are on trial, with separate proceedings being conducted for a seventh who aided and abetted the robbery.
