Man shoots himself during tenant eviction

A 66-year-old Frenchman shot himself on Thursday during the proceedings for his expulsion from a business premises in Lonay in Vaud. He did not threaten the representatives of the authorities who wanted to expel him. No one was injured.
Suddenly, the man drew a handgun in front of employees of the debt collection office and police officers and turned it on himself. This was announced by the Vaud cantonal police on Thursday.
Although the police officers gave the man immediate first aid, he died on the spot. He lived in the region. An investigation was opened.
