Manhunt for suspect after homicide in Basel

The criminal investigation department has ordered a manhunt following Thursday's homicide in Basel. The suspect is a 32-year-old man who had been an inpatient at the Psychiatric University Hospital.
The man had left the clinic before committing the crime. He is considered dangerous, according to a statement from the public prosecutor's office on Friday. It advises people not to approach the suspect, but to report any observations immediately. The mugshot with details of the suspect can be viewed on the public prosecutor's website.
On Thursday, a 75-year-old woman was killed in an apartment building on Nasenweg in Basel's Breite district. The police cordoned off the area around the crime scene.
