Marianne Binder to Run for Middle Aargau in the Council of States

The four Aargauer political parties, SP, GLP, Greens and EVP, have come together to support Marianne Binder in the race for a seat in the Aargauer Ständerat. This follows the withdrawal of the other three female candidates, Gabriela Suter (SP), Irène Kälin (Greens) and Barbara Portmann (GLP), who have all agreed to support Binder in order to prevent the election of SVP Nationalrat Benjamin Giezendanner. The three politicians are confident that their decision will open the way for a female Aargauer to enter the Ständerat. They expect Binder to remember that the Climate Alliance paved the way for her election.
