Nicolas Rimoldi Has No Chance in Zurich

Nicolas Rimoldi failed to be elected to the National Council in Switzerland, receiving only 10,398 votes from the canton of Zurich. The list of candidates he was part of, which included Aufrecht, Mass-Voll, the Swiss Democrats and the EDU, only saw the EDU gain a seat in the National Council, with Erich Vontobel receiving 9,390 votes and a 1.49% voter share. Aufrecht gained 1.1%, the Swiss Democrats 0.1% and Mass-Voll 0.65%. Rimoldi's campaign was hindered by his arrest the day before the election for participating in an illegal demonstration in Basel.
