The 18th edition of the pop culture festival Polymanga opened its doors in Lausanne on Friday morning. Over 50 guests, concerts, films, video game tournaments and cosplays are on the program over the next four days.
The Swiss event dedicated to Japanese, American and European pop culture is growing every year. The 2024 edition will cover 23,000 square meters in the Beaulieu Congress Center. That's 7,000 square meters more than last year.
As usual, the event, which takes place over the Easter weekend, welcomes numerous actors, TV presenters, tiktokers, streamers, dubbing actors, illustrators and musicians.
Guest is the voice of Spider-Man
One of the most prominent guests is the Japanese animator Takeshi Honda. He is known for his work in the anime "Evangelion" and works for Studio Ghibli and its famous director Hayao Miyazaki.
The voice actor Donald Reginoux can also be found at the Polymanga. He has given his voice to Spider-Man, Titeuf and Kristoff from the film "The Snow Queen", among others. Actors Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones) and Dmitri Antonov (Stranger Things) are other guests.
Illustrators exhibit their works
Fans of internet stars will not miss out either, as a large number of Youtubers will be on site. On the musical side, concerts by Sarah Alainn, Benyamin Nuss and Yoko Ishida are likely to entertain visitors. Korean rapper and singer Black On will also be performing.
Drawings also play an important role. 110 illustrators will present their works in the artists' village. The Polymanga Swiss Cosplay League will also be taking place for the second time in a row. It brings together the best cosplayers in Switzerland.
