The Prix Montagna 2024 has been awarded to the shoemaker New Rada in Le Prese, Graubünden. The Prix Montagne 2024 Audience Award went to the Zauberwald Lenzerheide project.

New Rada Schuhmacherei repairs around 3,000 pairs of mountain boots and climbing finches from all over Switzerland every year, as announced by the Swiss Association for Mountain Regions (SAB) and Swiss Mountain Aid on Thursday. "The fact that we can now take the prize home to Val Poschiavo is absolutely amazing!" said Orlando Rada, owner of the company.

Orlando and Leonia Rada have been running the family business, based in Le Prese in Val Poschiavo, for 30 years. The company not only gives shoes a second life, but also creates valuable jobs in the remote valley. According to the organizers, the Prix Montagne is endowed with 40,000 Swiss francs and was awarded in Bern.
