Results of the Council of States Election in the Canton of Geneva

In the Canton of Geneva, no one was elected to the Council of States in the first round of voting. A second round of voting will take place on November 12th. The absolute majority required to be elected is 55,057 votes.

The Canton of Geneva is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. It is the second most populous canton in the country, with a population of over 500,000. The Council of States is the upper house of the Swiss Federal Assembly, and is composed of 46 members elected by the cantons.

In the first round of voting for the Council of States in Geneva, no candidate was able to secure the absolute majority of 55,057 votes required to be elected. As a result, a second round of voting will take place on November 12th. The candidates who received the most votes in the first round will be on the ballot in the second round.
