Results of the Council of States Election in the Canton of Ticino

In the canton of Ticino, no one was elected to the Council of States in the first round of voting. A second round of voting will take place on November 19th. The absolute majority required to win is 51,831 votes.

The canton of Ticino is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. It is located in the south of the country and is the only canton with an Italian-speaking majority. The Council of States is one of the two chambers of the Swiss Federal Assembly, the other being the National Council. It is composed of 46 members, two of which are elected from each canton.

In the first round of voting in Ticino, no candidate was able to secure the absolute majority of 51,831 votes required to win. As a result, a second round of voting will take place on November 19th. The two candidates who received the most votes in the first round will compete in the second round. The candidate who receives the most votes in the second round will be elected to the Council of States.

The election of a representative to the Council of States is an important event for the canton of Ticino. The representative will be responsible for representing the interests of the canton in the Federal Assembly and will have a say in the decisions that affect the canton. The outcome of the second round of voting will be eagerly awaited by the citizens of Ticino.
