Shooting in Valais leaves two dead and one injured

A shooting in Sion on Monday morning left two people dead and one injured. A manhunt is underway, the Valais cantonal police announced on their website.
Shortly before 8 a.m., an as yet unidentified man shot at several people in Sion for reasons as yet unknown, the Valais cantonal police reported. Two people died and another person was injured. According to initial findings, the perpetrator knew his victims.
The cantonal police set up a search and arrest operation immediately after receiving the report. The manhunt was still ongoing on Monday morning. The public prosecutor opened an investigation into murder, with a subsidiary charge of intentional homicide, it was reported.
