Ralph Lewin, President of the Swiss Israelite Community (SIG), expressed concern that the sentiment towards the Jewish community in Switzerland could shift. He noted that in other countries, anti-Semitic attacks have increased. In an interview with Swiss Radio and Television (SRF), Lewin spoke of the thousands of people in Switzerland indirectly affected by the attacks of Hamas on the civilian population of Israel. He felt that the Jewish community here was powerless, but also angry. Currently, solidarity still predominates in Switzerland. However, in other countries, the sentiment has already shifted. Lewin expressed hope that the sympathy for the Jewish community in Switzerland would remain. He was satisfied with the Federal Council's decision to ban the Palestinian Hamas, which he felt was important for the well-being of Jews in Switzerland.
