SPP Politician Seiler Graf Forgoes Federal Council Candidacy

Priska Seiler Graf, the Zurich SP National Councillor, has withdrawn from the race to succeed Federal Councillor Alain Berset for personal reasons. She stated that while being in the Federal Council is an interesting and challenging task, her personal freedom is more important to her. The SP is fortunate to have enough capable and suitable candidates, so Seiler Graf will not challenge her Zurich party colleague Daniel Jositsch. The SP leadership in Zurich supports Jositsch's candidacy for the Federal Council and he will announce his decision on Tuesday. The SP has also decided to forego criteria for the Federal Council ticket and will present a selection of several candidates for the election of Alain Berset's successor on December 13th.
