The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG) has confirmed the success of the Swiss People's Party (SVP) in the Swiss National Council elections at 8pm. The SVP has gained eight seats, while the Greens have lost seven seats (instead of six) and the Green Liberals have lost five seats. The centre has surpassed the Free Democratic Party (FDP) by one seat.

The SVP has seen a significant increase in its seats, gaining eight more than in the last election. This has been attributed to the party's strong stance on immigration and security issues. The Greens have suffered a major setback, losing seven seats instead of the expected six. The Green Liberals have also lost five seats, while the centre has gained one seat, surpassing the FDP.

Overall, the SVP has emerged as the clear winner in the Swiss National Council elections, gaining eight seats and strengthening its position as the largest party in the Swiss Parliament. The Greens have suffered a major setback, losing seven seats, while the Green Liberals and the FDP have also lost seats. The centre has gained one seat, surpassing the FDP.
