Swiss Beat the Heat with Ice Cream: Summertime Treats Abound

In the warm and long summer, the Swiss' appetite for ice cream has remained strong. In the third quarter of 2023, people in Switzerland bought almost as many cones and ice cream sundaes as in the previous year.
The Swiss Ice Cream Association announced on Thursday that its members sold 15.1 million liters of ice cream, a slight decrease of one percent compared to the previous period.
The consumption of ice cream on a stick, which is eaten at home, increased by 8.6 percent. However, there was a decrease of around 3 percent in the sale of ice cream cups and ice cream on a stick in the street.
The Swiss Ice Cream Association includes members such as Gasparini, Migros-owned Delica, Emmi, Nestlé-owned Froneri, and Unilever's local subsidiary.
