Swiss Life CEO Patrick Frost hands over to Matthias Aellig in May

Life insurer Swiss Life is undergoing a major change at the top of the company. Group CEO Patrick Frost will step down from his post at the 2024 Annual General Meeting in mid-May. He will be replaced by the current Chief Financial Officer Matthias Aellig.

Frost, who has been CEO since July 2014, is to be elected to the Board of Directors in 2026, according to a press release issued on Monday. Matthias Aellig, for his part, has been Chief Financial Officer of Swiss Life since March 2019.

Marco Gerussi will succeed him as Head of Finance, according to the statement. He was responsible for the finance transformation and thus the introduction of IFRS accounting standards 17/9 from 2018 and also took over as Head of IT in the current year.

There will be another resignation at the head of Swiss Life's business in Germany. Head of Germany Jörg Arnold will step down from his position at the end of June 2024, it is reported. Dirk von der Crone has been appointed as his successor.
