The Swiss stock exchange SIX suspended trading again on Wednesday afternoon due to technical problems. Contrary to an initial announcement, the problems with the price feed are continuing, as can be seen from a message on the SIX website.
Trading was suspended again at 11.45 am. Following the massive problems, SIX had previously resumed trading at 11.30 a.m. after declaring that the glitch with the SIX MDDX data feed had been resolved. In addition to equity trading, trading in options, structured products and bonds was also affected.
Following the problems with the price feed for shares and indices that occurred shortly after the start of trading, trading on SIX was suspended at 10 am. The problems were initially declared resolved at around 11 a.m. and an attempt was made to resume trading at around 11.30 a.m. The cause of the glitch was initially unclear, but according to a spokesperson it was an internal problem. This also affects the Spanish stock exchange BME, which belongs to the SIX Group.
