The airline Swiss suspended flights from Zurich to Tel Aviv and back on Thursday. It is also extending the interruption of flights between Zurich and Beirut. This is Swiss' response to the latest developments in the Middle East.

Swiss will not be flying to Tel Aviv until and including Thursday, August 8, the airline announced on Thursday. The safety of our passengers and crews is always our top priority, Swiss explained its decision.

Affected passengers can either rebook for a later flight or request a full refund of their ticket. According to the communiqué, Swiss is offering its local employees the opportunity to leave the country.

Flights to and from Beirut were already suspended last Monday, as the Lufthansa Group, of which Swiss is a member, announced at the time. This interruption is now to be extended by one week up to and including August 12, as Swiss wrote.
