Switzerland imposes sanctions on a further 106 individuals and 88 companies

In connection with the Russian attack on Ukraine, Switzerland has placed a further 106 individuals and 88 companies on its sanctions list. These are mainly involved in the manufacture of missiles, drones, air defense systems and other military goods.
Russian companies and individuals involved in the supply of armaments from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Russia are now also on the list, as the responsible Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) wrote on Friday. The sanctions should apply from 18:00 on Friday.
Judges and officials from the Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine are also subject to sanctions. Persons involved in the forced abduction of Ukrainian children have also been added to the list, the EAER announced.
The assets of those listed in Switzerland must be frozen and reported to the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). In addition, travel sanctions apply to those affected.
Further measures in the area of trade are intended to prevent Russia from acquiring sensitive goods and technologies for its army. This includes a ban on the export of dual-use goods and goods for Russia's military and technological strengthening to 27 additional companies.
The listings correspond to the EU's 13th sanctions package. The EU member states adopted this on February 23, on the eve of the second anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine. It is considered a symbol above all because it does not contain any new far-reaching economic sanctions.
