From the perspective of the daily newspaper Blick.ch, the new composition of the Parliament is a return to the tried and true and Switzerland is a haven of stability. The Swiss have returned to normalcy after the elections. The Greens have suffered a massive loss, while the SVP has regained its former strength. This can be called a rightward shift, but more accurately, the Swiss have returned to stability. It was clear to everyone that the Greens would lose after their historic climate election, likely even to the Greens themselves. However, they have only themselves to blame for the extent of the defeat - those who do not convert a success like 2019 into real politics should not be surprised when voters return to the SP list or stay home altogether. Nevertheless, 2019 was the exception. In 2023, Switzerland has returned to normalcy. The country has shown itself to be a haven of stability, a rock in the surf, especially in the face of a pandemic, wars and terrorist attacks in recent years, months and weeks. Despite all the uncertainty, the Swiss did not vote radically. The critics of the Corona measures from Mass-Voll, Aufrecht and so on have not made a dent, and the SVP cannot exceed its record result from 2015. ©Keystone/SDA
