The "Aargauer Zeitung" comments on the Yes to the 13th AHV pension and the No to the pension initiative in a video commentary as follows:
"It is certainly the biggest social expansion ever achieved by initiative. (...) It is a great sensation. (...) There is the context of corona and the expansion of the army, among other things, where billions are at stake. Many people are saying to themselves 'Now it's my turn', now it's time to give something back to the people and expand the AHV pension a little. (...) There is a wide range of options for implementation. For example, the approach to wage contributions, but also an inheritance tax or a financial market transaction tax. Among trade unions and the left, it is clear that the retirement age has been safely closed for the time being."
