From the perspective of the news portal Watson.ch, the SVP may soon realise that their "triumph" will not bring them happiness. Eight years ago, the right-wing surge quickly dissipated in parliament, leaving only disappointment in its wake. The SVP's core competency has always been to stoke fears of foreigners and manage problems, and this strategy has once again paid off. However, problems do not disappear simply by pointing them out, as is the case with the personnel shortage that is increasingly felt in many industries in Switzerland. When asked for concrete solutions, the SVP tends to resort to platitudes. In summary, the SVP's strategy of stoking fears and managing problems has been successful in the short-term, but it does not provide a lasting solution to the underlying issues.
