84 nations and organizations agreed on a final declaration at the Ukraine Peace Conference on the Bürgenstock on Saturday and Sunday. Below is the so-called "Joint Communiqué on a Peace Framework" translated from English into German:

Joint communiqué on a peace framework

The Russian Federation's ongoing war against Ukraine continues to cause great human suffering and destruction, creating risks and crises with global implications. We gathered in Switzerland on June 15 and 16, 2024 to deepen a high-level dialog on ways to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine. We reaffirmed resolutions A/RES/ES-11/1 and A/RES/ES-11/6 adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and underlined our commitment to respect international law, including the United Nations Charter. This Summit built on the previous discussions that took place on the basis of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and other peace proposals that are in accordance with international law, including the Charter of the United Nations.

We greatly appreciate Switzerland's hospitality and its initiative to host this high-level summit as an expression of its firm commitment to the promotion of international peace and security.

We had a fruitful, comprehensive and constructive exchange of views on ways towards a framework for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on international law, including the Charter of the United Nations. In particular, we reaffirm our commitment to the renunciation of the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State, to the principles of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all States, including Ukraine, within their internationally recognized borders, including territorial waters, and to the settlement of disputes by peaceful means as principles of international law.

In addition, we have a shared vision on the following key aspects:

First, any use of nuclear energy and nuclear facilities must be safe, secure, guarded and environmentally sound. Ukraine's nuclear power plants and facilities, including the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, must be operated safely and securely under the full sovereign control of Ukraine and in accordance with the principles of the IAEA and under its supervision.

Any threat or use of nuclear weapons in connection with the ongoing war against Ukraine is inadmissible.

Secondly, global food security depends on the uninterrupted production and supply of food. In this context, free, unrestricted and safe commercial shipping and access to ports in the Black and Azov Seas are crucial. Attacks on merchant vessels in ports and along the entire route, as well as on civilian ports and civilian port infrastructure, are unacceptable.

Food security must not be weaponized in any way. Ukrainian agricultural products should be supplied safely and freely to interested third countries.

Thirdly, all prisoners of war must be released through full exchange. All deported and unlawfully displaced Ukrainian children and all other Ukrainian civilians who have been unlawfully detained must be returned to Ukraine.

We are convinced that the establishment of peace requires the involvement of all parties and dialog between them. We have therefore decided to take concrete steps in the future in the above-mentioned areas with the further involvement of representatives of all parties.

The Charter of the United Nations, including the principles of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states, can and will serve as the basis for achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
